These replacement stair treads are an overlay system where there is no need to tear down existing stairs. Replacement stair treads are oversized so they can be cut to size. Simply measure existing stair and then cut to size. Attach with construction grade polyurethane adhesive. Entire stair nosing is also covered. Then cut, size and apply the matching riser to complete the conversion process. Remodeling stairs has never been so easy. Most projects can be completed in one day. You'll enjoy seeing the progress made each hour when using this remarkable overlay system.
The replacement stair treads are an unfnished solid maple hardwood that have been milled to be slightly oversized to allow for size adjustments for a "glove-like" fit. Use for remodeling stairs that have an inferior wood, on prefabricated staircases, where you have worn out stairs, or when you want to change from carpeting to a gorgeous hardwood surfac. These replacement stair treads will fit over treads up to 1 1/16" thick. Depth will need to be 11" or less. There is a long lasting 30 year warranty on these sturdy stairway parts.
These replacement stair treads have a rounded style nosing. Use when remodeling stairs with worn surfaces, prefabricated staircases, or when tearing off carpeting from existing stairs where you have a closed end stair. The rounded style stair tread will fit over existing treads that are 1 1/16" thick. Depth of tread should be 11" or less.
The overlay system for remodeling stairs is a 2-part system. You must use the unfinished maple risers to complete each step. These are found here. The risers are made from the same solid maple hardwood for lasting durability.
