Stair Replacement - Overlay Tread and Riser
Stair replacement is made easy with the StareCasing System of solid hardwood tread and riser. This stair replacement system will lay over your current tread and riser like a well-fitted glove. Find companion risers to complete staircase here. Installation is easy, just follow 3 simple steps; measure, cut, and install. A polyurethane-based adhesive used for construction is used to securely attach tread and riser. This is a solid red oak hardwood which can be used over 2x10 construction grade stairs. No veneers, plywood, or laminate have been used in the manufacturing of these stair replacement parts.
The stair replacement tread and riser come in three widths; 36", 42", and 48". Picture to left shows shape of nosing. Tread and riser are unfinished to allow for choice to stain, paint, or do both. The look of a stained tread sitting above a painted riser is lovely option.
Tread and riser can be placed over a prefabricated staircase or used to update a worn staircase just as long as you work within the dimensions given below. No messy tear downs will save you time. In fact, this is a project that you can finish within a day. This makes the StareCasing system a cost effective, demolition-free, time-saving way to have great looking solid hardwood stairs. You can also use these stair replacement parts on carpeted stairs, as long as they are within the necessary dimensions. You will simply remove old carpet, nails and or staples before overlaying corresponding parts.
