This selection comes with a 1/2" diameter fluted hollow brass rod. The brackets come in standard for carpets under 3/4" or extended to accommodate carpet piles thicker then 3/4". These stair rods come in four stair rod lengths and can be cut to the appropriate size simply by using a hacksaw. Standard brackets fit carpets under 3/4" thick, and Extended brackets will fit carpet over 3/4" thick.
