How to Stain Unfinished Wood Vents:

1. Remove damper 
2. Sand lightly with 150 Grit Sandpaper (DO NOT USE STEEL WOOL)
3. Use oil based stain on ALL surfaces 
4. Let dry completely 
5. Apply 2 coats of Oil Based Sanding Sealer (BE SURE TO APPLY TO ALL SURFACES TO AVOID WARPING)
6. Let dry completely 
7. Sand sealer with 220 Grit Sandpaper 
8. Apply 2-3 coats of high quality oil based finish to all surfaces
9. Enjoy your newly finished baseboard!
